Day 2 of the WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition Championship has come to a close, whittling down a massive field of 2,337 entries to the remaining contenders poised for a Day 3 showdown. The pressure intensified as players battled through the bubble and deep into the money, with seasoned pros and emerging talents alike vying for a piece of the ฿75 million sponsored prize pool.
As the tournament heads into Day 3, the survivors will return with one goal in mind: securing a seat at the Championship final table and a shot at the coveted WPT World Championship Passport.

The WPT Prime Thailand Championship is down to its final 14 players, representing 10 nationalities. China leads with three players (21%), including Haoran Sun (13.4M chips), who remains the last of the early Day 1 chip leaders still in contention after a composed, steady run. He’s joined by Cai Hong (13.75M) and Zhang Mingzhe (4.25M).
Most of the early Chinese chip leaders, including Zhiqiang Meng, Junjie Wang, and Haiyang Zhang, have already been eliminated despite their massive stacks from Day 1A. However, Sun remains in contention after bagging 869,000 chips on Day 1B—the second-largest stack of that flight.

South Korea’s Duhan Lee tops the chip count with 16.175M chips, while Israel’s Amit Ashkenazi (10.025M) and Canada’s Philipp Zukernik (9.5M) are close behind. Aside from China, representing 3 out of 14 (21%) remaining players, the countries of Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Denmark, Vietnam, and India are also represented. However, many are entering Day 3 as short stacks in need of early double-ups.
