In observance of National Girlfriend’s Day on August 1, Golden Dragon Poker shines a spotlight on the talented women competing in the Opener Day 2 WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition, a freeroll freezeout tournament that drew 677 total entries. The top 85 players have reached the money, and among them are three standout women still in contention as the field narrows to 45 remaining players (as of writing).

These competitors are now vying for a share of THB 3,000,000 (approximately $83,000 USD) in travel funds, with THB 550,000 (approximately $15,200 USD) awarded to the eventual champion.

Talita Setyady (Indonesia)

Sponsored by WPT Global Indonesia, Talita Setyady has demonstrated a strong performance throughout the event. On November 18, 2024, Talita Setyady secured a commanding victory in the RM 880 + 120 No Limit Hold’em – Turbo Event at Poker Dream 13, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Talita clinched 1st place, earning a prize of RM 28,300 (approximately $6,334 USD). Will she earn another championship in the WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition?

Haixin Yang (China)

Haixin Yang emerged victorious in the KRW 400,000 No Limit Hold’em – KPC Venus Event at the Korea Poker Cup Series held in Jeju, Korea. The event showcased some of the top female talents in the region, and Yang’s performance stood out as she claimed 1st place, taking home KRW 5,050,000 (approximately $3,678 USD) in prize money. Will she make it to the final table of The Opener?

Nguyen Thuy Linh (Vietnam)

Representing Vietnam, Nguyen Thuy Linh has shown disciplined play and strategic awareness, successfully navigating through a highly competitive field. Her advancement into the money round reflects her growing presence in the regional poker circuit. How far will she make it in the competition?

Xuyiao Lou (China)

China’s Xuyiao Lou has maintained a steady course throughout the event, leveraging her skill and patience to remain among the final contenders. Championship Day 1A Wraps at Level 15; Day 2/A Tomorrow

Day 1A of the WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition Championship concluded after Level 15, narrowing down the field in dramatic fashion. All players who bagged chips will return for Day 2/A on Friday, August 2 at 6 PM, where play will continue until the field reaches in-the-money (ITM).

A total of 525 entries were recorded in Day 1A, with the top 12.5% of the field securing a place in the money and a shot at the championship title.

Looking ahead, Championship Day 1B Turbo is scheduled for tomorrow, August 2 at 6 PM. This flight will feature 20-minute blind levels, offering a fast-paced opportunity for players to secure a seat in Day 2.
